Stephen Whittaker Prize
Dr Stephen Whittaker was a founder member of the WMPA and successor to James Sheldon as chairman of the Regional Consultants Committee. The Stephen Whittaker Prize was established by a memorial appeal following Dr Whittaker’s death in 1980. The prize is for the best scientific paper presented by a member of junior hospital staff.
Trainees are eligible for the prize of £250 (best paper, 15 mins)
Owen Wade Prize
When Owen Wade retired as Dean of Birmingham Medical School and Professor of Therapeutics in 1986 he established a WMPA prize for the best Case Presentation by a member of junior hospital staff.
Trainees are eligible for the prize of £150 (best case report, 10 mins)
